Built in 1723, in the Georgian style of architecture, the Old North Church is a majestic edifice portraying art, history and faith. The Old North Church is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.

The name of the Old North Church has gone down in the annals of history. It was here that the spark for the battle of American independence was ignited. On the night of April 18, 1775, sexton Robert Newton climbed the steeple of the church and hung two lanterns. The lantern was a signal to the Regulars to begin their march to Lexington and capture cache of Colonial military stores. As soon as the signal was given Paul Revere was being rowed to the Charlestown shore, his subsequent famed ride on horseback, brought out the militia and the shot heard round the world was fired on Lexington Green the following day.

The north Church welcomes children of all age groups. They offer different tours to various age groups to enlighten them about the American Revolution.

The Old North Church remained a parish from 1723 to 1939, which was then given mission status due to lack of members. The church is governed by the Corporation of Christ Church in the city of Boston.
