In 1630, Boston was then just a town. By the year 1822 it was converted into a city, making it one of the oldest cities in America. Rich in social and economic history, Boston has come a long way and evolved into a major hub in the state of Massachusetts. Currently, it is home to 590,000 residents, finest hospitals, notable institutions and other noteworthy places to visit.

Boston was named as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People for the year 2008. This was awarded by the America's Promise Alliance. The city was recognized as the best place where youth can grow and be educated. The strategies presented by the city of Boston will help the youth gear towards the right direction for their future and even have a lasting impact to the next generation. The city has great and innovative projects to keep the youth motivated. This is realized via their Camp Harbor View project, which was previously a vacant spot transformed into an oasis for young summer campers. They offer recreational activities and other positive activities for the children.
