Using Automobiles in Boston
Boston has adopted the “park and ride” concept which involves offering parking facilities for commuters who use its metro and rail stations. These stations may be situated near the major highways and arterial roads at the periphery of Boston.
The Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority (MBTA) is the main agency that runs the city’s “park and ride” facilities. Each station in the system has its respective capacity but the whole MBTA system can accommodate nearly 46,000 vehicles (at the peripheral stations alone.) Vehicles usually get deposited here in the morning by people rushing to work so hustle for your own slot.
