Take an interesting trip studying specimens of natural history in the Museum of Science. The purpose of the museum is to both stimulate a desire for knowledge as well as entertain.
Its history can be traced way back to 1864, when the New England Museum of Natural History at the corner of Berkeley and Boylston Streets in Boston's Back Bay opened. One of the main attractions of the museum is the Hayden planetarium which features models, lectures, films, laser and star shows.
To attract children and adults alike the museum gives a 3D film presentation using polarized lights. Its unique shot of Mount Everest is awe inspiring and makes you grasp for breath at the sight of one of the mightiest mountains in the world.
Natural Mysteries puts the Museum's oldest objects on display. An amazing 3- D library called "Design Around Us" features thousands of items from the Museum's extensive natural history collection.
The museum is a mine house of information on nature, science and technology. From the Washburn Pavilion you can drink in the beauty of Charles River and the Boston skyline.
The museum tries to whet the appetite of both children and adults to know about the exciting world of science and nature by conducting workshops.
