Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum of Art is one of the most charming museums in Boston. Founded way back in 1903, by Isabella Stewart Gardner, this museum houses priceless works of art in a timeless setting.

The museum is a triple storied old stone building built around an inner courtyard, filled with beautiful flowers graceful trees and shrubs. The museum bears the stamp of Isabella Stewart Gardner's personality and her impeccable taste. She personally selected many of the works housed in the museum.

Three floors of galleries which surround the courtyard are filled with exquisite art like paintings, sculpture, tapestries, furniture and decorative arts from cultures spanning thirty centuries. She adored the work of Dante and bought many of his rare edition books; she also admired rare Dutch and Italian paintings which visitors can see throughout the museum.

The Gardners made use of their wealth to buy paintings and other works of art from all over the world. These are artistically showcased inside the museum.
